Ronja Kniep

Ronja Kniep is a research fellow at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center and a doctoral student at the Freie Universität Berlin. In her research she focuses on digital policy, surveillance, privacy, intelligence and democratic oversight. In her PhD project, Ronja investigates the transnational history of Signals Intelligence from 1945 until today, and asks how different technologies like the telegraph, satellites and the internet have changed the modes of secret surveillance.
