Accra Meetup

Short thesis

We are inviting you to a “Collaborators Meeting” as we explore the opportunity of hosting re:publica in Africa for the first time. re:publica is Europe’s biggest festival on digital society and one of the world’s most exceptional festivals on digital culture with 9,000 participants coming from all areas of society. Participants include representatives from science, tech, politics, business, hacker culture, NGOs, media and marketing, as well as bloggers, activists and artists. This will be the first time it will happen outside of Europe.

Organizers of the festival and GiZ invite you to co-create this festival by joining a meeting of selected active stakeholders in our ecosystem. As a Collaborator, you can express your interest in either providing services or help us answer some key questions:

  • Which institutions could serve as local implementing partners and/or service providers? (Content, Curators, Media, Logistics, Speakers etc.)
  • Which issues should be at the core of a possible edition of re:publica in Ghana?
  • What kind of added value could the festival bring to the region?
  • Which relevant actors and institutions should be involved from Ghana and neighboring countries?
