Born and raised in Colombia, Angela is an active learner, idealist, environmentalist and passionate for innovative ideas for a better world. After a brief spell in the for-profit world, she realized her true passion was social change managing projects for across a range of organizations and countries including, Latin America and The Caribbean, Switzerland, Morocco and France. Angela has a background in Finance, International Relations and Project Management for social impact projects.
She worked for the Donor Relations Services at UNHCR in Geneva. Afterwards she moved to Mexico to work for the Fundación Proacceso, a nonprofit that uses the educational benefits of technology to catalyze the social and economic development of low-income communities through its 120 digital inclusion centers. In 6 years in Proacceso as Executive Director and Grants and Alliances Manager, she forged and maintained strategic alliances with public, private and multilateral organizations (local and international) and implemented fundraising and partnerships strategy.
Now, she spends her time at the Trust for the Americas, non-profit based in DC, managing the strategic design and implementation of digital inclusion and innovative projects that help underserved communities in Latin America and the Caribbean. And also traveling, speaking, and inspiring people to develop empathic communication skills.
