Yine Yenki Nyika is an Assistant Lecturer and worked as Head, Department of Computer Science for 2 years at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Juba, South Sudan
She is the Co-founder and Mentorship Director of the GOGirls-ICT Initiative in South Sudan. She also helped lead the peacebuilders Code-a-thon at the South Sudan #peacehackcamp organized by Kapital Movie (Juba) in collaboration with r0g_agency for open culture (Berlin). Currently she is working to implement the #TTOS-ICT (Time To Shine ICT) project in South Sudan as a model to empower women and girls through ICT mentorship programs and ICT competitions.
She has contributed as an expert on issues related to 'Gender and ICT' and 'Gender and Media' workshops organized by the University of Juba in South Sudan, and has spoken internationally, among others, at the 2016 ICT4D Conference in Nairobi, the Transform Africa Summit 2017 and participated at the YouthConnect2017 Summit in Kigali.
Yine earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Makerere University, Uganda, graduating in January, 2015. She lives and works in Juba, South Sudan.
