Sabine Faller ZKM | Museum Communication

Sabine Faller (St.Ex.II) is a Research Associate in the Department Museum Communication at the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe (Germany). Her main focus lies in designing and developing workshops, projects and educational programs in the fields of media art, digital education and online learning: Currently as co-project manager of the digital participatory activation program of the research project "Digitalization in Dialogue - digilog@bw". She is also project manager of the artistic scholarship programs "Masterclass" and "Kulturakademie" as well as co-designer of the creative makerspace "BÄM".

Prior to that, she studied Art and German in the teacher training program of the University of Education in Freiburg. After her studies she worked as an art teacher and freelance media educator and editor for ALEX Offener Kanal Berlin and the Lernradio PH 88,4 Freiburg.

She is speaker and leads workshops in several conferences and symposia such as Digital Worlds - bkj.de (2021), Future Arena - innovationsland-deutschland.de (2021), Werkstatt.Con - Digital Education Landscape After 2020 - bpb.de (2021), Digital Worlds - Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg - Karlsruhe (2019), Bauhaus Annual Meeting - Weimar (2019), re:publica - Berlin (2019 and 2018), Digital Atelier - Bologna (2019), International Artists Gathering of FEZ (2019), Technarte Los Angeles and Bilbao (2018), We Are Museums - Marrakesh (2018), CODE {affair} | Code Your Life - Berlin (2017).

So far, she has co-authored the catalog "5 Jahre Masterclass am ZKM" (ZKM, 2020), as well as the articles "Kunstvermittlung, Code und das künstlerische Digitale" (LKJ, 2020), "Vom Sondieren des Unbekannten - Kulturelle Bildung und digitale Transformation" (Nomos, 2020), and "Innovative Wissensvermittlung in der digitalisierten Gesellschaft" (digilogbw, 2020).

She is a musician and singer of the band "Kosmothyczka" and involved as DJane and as prodcer in the event series "Girlsattack" (Slow Club Freiburg / Alte Hackerei Karlsruhe), where she provides a platform for women in the arts and culture. Since 2021 she has been involved in the "Interessengemeinschaft Musiker:innen Karlsruhe (IGMUKA)" for a free, lively and more diverse cultural scene.
