When Martina Skender, a Strategic Designer for Daimler’s innovation hub Lab1886, first tried to explain to her family what exactly she does in her work, she received plenty of confused looks. In response, she invented a fun activity that introduces the work process in the start-up industry. The LAB Game will take you step by step through the process of creating a venture in the Information Age, and help you understand – and explain – how a small team of minds can get from an idea to a product.

At re:publica 2018, Martina Skender will share some of the experiences she and her team had as they collaborated to create ventures. She will describe the opportunities and challenges they encountered on the journey to design the best possible experience for the end-user. Following this short presentation, Martina will divide you into small groups and guide you through The LAB Game. This group activity creates an opportunity for exchange and debate on practical aspects of the work process in the start-up industry. Come share the complexity and joy of venture creation!
