IONITY: Connecting Europe with high power charging

The electric car has arrived. The automotive revolution is underway. And yet the mobility environment we live in, remains one characterized by uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. Range anxiety both in terms of battery capacity and charging infrastructure is the most frequent topic when the conversation turns to e-mobility: Is my car’s battery fully charged? Where can I recharge my car? How far can I drive with my car? For consumers, these questions are often the major issue preventing them from purchasing of an electric vehicle.

IONITY is the joint venture of BMW Group, Daimler AG, Ford Motor Company and the Volkswagen Group with Audi and Porsche. We are currently building a network of reliable, High-Performance-Charging stations along major routes across Europe. These stations will be easy to use and thanks to their capacity of up to 350 kW they will dramatically reduce charging times for electric vehicles. IONITY CEO Dr. Michael Hajesch talks about the challenges of building Europe’s High-Power-Charging-Network and why long-distance travel with electric vehicles is no longer the stuff of fiction.
