I share my office with a robot. My packages are delivered by drone, and I use a computer to control my tools. Digitalisation is changing our everyday working lives and our occupations. Although these developments are creating new risks and challenges all over the world, they are also bringing new opportunities for the world of work and for vocational education and training. GOVET, the German Office for International Cooperation in Vocational Education and Training based at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB), will be in attendance at the re:publica to engage in debate with you on the future of work and to talk about what these developments will actually mean for vocational education and training.
Digitalisation and the integration of innovation into VET are amongst the most important topics currently being addressed by GOVET (www.govet.international/en). We are the main point of contact and port of call for domestic and foreign partners on all matters relating to vocational education and training and international VET cooperation. GOVET fosters networking between stakeholders involved in vocational education and training and links up with expert partners in order to create a framework for cooperation.
We provide information on how vocational education and training in Germany works. We also house the Secretariat of the Round Table for international cooperation in VET and support the VET cooperation agreements being pursued by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Because it is housed at BIBB, GOVET enjoys close ties with the wealth of specialist and research expertise that is deployed in the field of dual vocational education and training.

Live Sessions with experts
Our stand will put you in contact with the key interfaces in vocational education and training in Germany. Engage in debate on the topic of Vocational Education and Training 4.0 with partners such as specialists from the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) and from training practice. These are the issues we want to find out about. How do you see your own work in future? What opportunities will innovations create, and what are the inherent risks? What does this all mean for vocational education and training?

International representatives
Vocational Education and Training 4.0 is a topic which will bring changes in its wake at a global level. For this reason, we will be inviting VET representatives from other countries to our stand. They will be able to tell you how they are bringing their skilled workers up to speed for the world of work of the future. This is a topic which is particularly crucial to companies with global networks or international locations.
