POP conventional policy making meet up: Networked European Democracy

Short thesis

How can someone in Berlin influence policy discussions at the European level, but also discover what people in Bologna, Bucharest, or a village in the Belgian Ardennes think too? Can we reimagine public policy making, enabled by digital and on-the-ground participatory initiatives? Can European democracy become more networked and what does that mean?

We’ll provide insights into some initiatives happening to develop a more open and networked European democracy before opening up to an informal discussion. Ideas, challenges and propositions will be weaved into the conversation by Anthony Zacharzewski and Kelly McBride of The Democratic Society.

Together we’ll reflect on a vision where people across Europe have more, and better, opportunities to make and shape the decisions that effect their lives, enabled by digital.
