Science Camp (the Iraqi maker space) is bringing a digital Origami technique, that builds paper geometry based on a 3D model using polygon flattening technique. This is an approach in production of art and tangible designs using a digital fabrication technology. "Pepakura Designer" software is used to produce a paper model of a 3D design by unfolding and flattening the 3D model into polygons which can be cut by a laser cutter, vinyl cutter, and plasma CNC (for metal sculptures) to be re-folded into real-life models. The original 3D design technology can be applied in art and rapid prototyping methodology. In his workshop Nawres will provide a demonstration of the "Pepakura Designer". The participants can use glue, paper, cutters and a PC to make 3D paper craft art from flat papers.
