Christoph Plate

Christoph Plate worked as Africa Correspondent based in Nairobi for German and Swiss Media for eight years until 2002, covering major events like the war in Somalia and the genocide in Rwanda. He then served as Middle East Editor for the Sunday edition of Neue Zuercher Zeitung in Switzerland until 2012, covering Iraq, Syria and Israel, as well as Afghanistan and Pakistan. From 2012 until 2015 he was Deputy-Editor-in-Chief of the biggest regional daily in Southern Germany. He joined the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in May 2017 and is now the Director of their Media Programme for Subsahara Africa. KAS Media Africa organizes seminars and publications on Media Law, Media Ownership and the future of the Fourth Estate in Africa. Christoph lives in Johannesburg/South Africa
