Johanna Barnbeck

Johanna Barnbeck is an artistic researcher and a creative consultant. She develops science films and multimedia communication projects for universities and research organisations (such as the Helmholtz Association), next to conducting own research (e.g. for the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and The Future Ocean Cluster of Excellence in Kiel).

She fosters stronger research collaborations between artists, artistic researchers and scientists and feels best when working at the intersection of art, design, science and technology, where she leads interdisciplinary teams with different backgrounds from in- and outside academia. For her outstanding initiatives in this area, she has been nominated to become a fellow at the Junge Akademie.

With workshop formats like Collaborative Format Development In Science Communication or the #GifYourScience-Workshop she teaches how else research can be communicated in times of manifold medial possibilities.
