Daniel Recktenwald is a PhD candidate in the Department of English at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received his M.A. in English and German Linguistics from Saarland University under the supervision of Prof. Neal Norrick. The thesis was on Interactional Practices in Let’s Play Videos. His scurrent research interests are traditionally text-based forms of computer-mediated communication as well as the form and function of discourse in online live streaming of video games on Twitch and Let’s Play videos on YouTube.
