Nayla Zreik Fahed
CEO

Nayla Zreik Fahed holds a Ph.D. in XVIII century French literature. Her domain of interest evolved around bilingualism and its implications on learning abilities and teaching approaches. After volunteering in hospitals to teach children suffering from long term diseases, Nayla Zreik Fahed felt the need to develop alternative solutions to fill the learning gaps and avoid school dropouts. This led to the creation, with Nagi Ghorra, a colleague of hers and an ICT expert, of the e-learning platform Tabshoura and the foundation of the Lebanese Alternative Learning NGO (LAL) in December 2013. The Syrian refugee crises increased the need to address a bigger social problem and hence the need to develop creative and efficient ways to help the Syrian refugee children adapt to the Lebanese educational system. Tabshoura evolved to address this new pocket of needs and create meaningful learning available to all.

LAL became the focus of Nayla’s energy and attention. She resigned from her teaching position at Saint Joseph University in August 2016 to devote herself to LAL’s mission.
