Building Open Lights for wheelchair users


OPEN ° LIGHTS are DIY open source lighting modules designed to meet the needs of wheelchair users. In this workshop you can learn how to build your own OPEN ° LIGHT for your wheelchair or another use case.


We provide the electronic parts, soldering stations, instructions and all you need to have a glowing, sparkling light that helps you being seen in the dark. We’ld also love to ideate with you on how we can challenge and adapt the design and functionality of this open source product further.

The Design for the Open ° Lights has been co-created by a team of wheelchair users, technicians and designers in the project MADE FOR MY WHEELCHAIR by Makea Industries GmbH, Fab Lab Berlin and be able e.V..
