Paul-Olivier Dehaye
Founder

Paul-Olivier Dehaye is interested in data protection rights.

While originally set out on a career path of mathematics research, Dehaye has become increasingly concerned with the extensive and unaccountable use of algorithms for ever more significant decisions. He thinks we cannot take good societal decisions on governance of algorithms if individuals do not have good control over their personal data. This has led him, over the past few years, to experiment wildly but systematically with the use of his data protection rights. He has since founded PersonalData.IO to help everyone benefit from his experience.

Dehaye has also helped with the background research for a succession of articles covering the use of personal data in elections, leading up to the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
