Die Deutsch-Syrerin Helen Fares (24) ist in Leipzig aufgewachsen und lebt dort auch heute noch. 

Neben ihrer Tätigkeit als Journalistin studiert Helen Psychologie und BWL. Seit 2014 ist sie als Mainhost beim Openair Frauenfeld tätig und moderiert seitdem diverse musikjournalistische Formate. Von 2016 bis jetzt produziert, schreibt und moderiert sie den Podcast „Deine Homegirls“ zusammen mit DJ Josi Miller. 2017 war Helen das Gesicht der 7-teiligen Dokumentation „Homo Digitalis“ für die Sender arte/BR/ORF und ist seitdem als Autorin für dokumentarische Formate in den Bereichen Hiphop, Kultur und Psychologie tätig. 

Helen Fares setzt sich als Aktivistin für LGBTQI-, Frauenrechte und Geflüchtete sowohl auf privater als auch beruflicher Ebene ein.

German-Syrian Helen Fares (24) grew up in Leipzig and still lives there today. 

Besides working as a journalist, Fares is studying psychology and economics. Since 2017, she has served as the main host at Frauenfeld Open Air and has also been hosting several music journalism formats. Since 2016, she has been producing, writing and hosting the podcast “Deine Homegirls” (“Your Homegirls”) alongside DJ Josi Miller. In 2017 Fares was the face of the 7-part documentary “Homo Digitalis” for the stations arte/BR/ORF and has since been writing for documentary formats in the areas of hiphop, culture and psychology. Privately as well as professionally, Helen Fares is also an advocate for LGBTQI issues, women’s rights and refugees.
